Christmas Cheer

This year we held Christmas cheer once again. The officer team and other members has a wonderful time putting together the float at Alex Reenies house where him and his family also provided lunch. This was a good way to get to know other member and just have fun! The Coleman FFA float came in second at this year Pound Parade. After the parade members also helped out at the community center giving out hot soup and warm hot chocolate to members of the community. The crew that kindly cleaned up our float after was made up of Alex Reenie, Cahl Szabo, and Alexanderia Broderick. Thank you to everyone that came and helped with christmas cheer this year. We hope to see you next year!

FIRE Conference 2019

October 5, 2019

Five members attended the Wisconsin Association of FFA FIRE Conference,  at the Fox Valley Technical College Campus in Appleton, Wisconsin. FIRE stands for “Foundations in Reaching Excellence.” The Wisconsin FFA FIRE Conference is designed to inform beginning FFA members about the FFA and motivate them to participate in its many activities. Students learned about communication skills, social skills, goal setting, FFA awards and programs, and opportunities in agriculture along with developing leadership skills to help them be effective members in their local chapters. The conference is conducted by the 2018-2019 State FFA Officer Team along with assistance from the FVTC-Appleton Post Secondary Agricultural Student Organization. The conference was centered around the theme “FFAmily Vacation”. All of the state officers encouraged students that attended the FIRE Conference to set goals for their FFA involvement and meet people from around the state who can help them reach those goals. Not only does this conference help students understand the FFA organization and all its opportunities, but helps them develop skills in meeting people, working with others and setting goals with a plan of action. The members who attended were Jessica Tachick, Stephanie Vasquez, Kaitlyn Marquardt, Justin Borchert, and Audrey Rabitz.

Sectional Leadership Workshop

October 2, 2019

The following officers of Coleman  FFA Chapter: Morgan Messenger, Owen Messenger, Cahl Szabo, Evan Stank,  Alex Prestine, Devin Bort,  Audrey Rabitz, and Alexandria Broderick attended the Sectional Leadership Workshop, October 2nd, 2019 at  High School in Shawano, Wisconsin. The Wisconsin FFA Sectional Leadership Workshop is designed to prepare local FFA chapter officers and members both in high school and middle school for leadership roles in their school district for the upcoming year. It also informs each chapter of the new programs available to all FFA members and allows the officers to exchange ideas with other FFA chapters in their area. The 2019-2020 State FFA Officer Team planned and conducted this workshop to encourage the participants to develop their leadership potential, to challenge them to set personal and chapter goals for the year and to motivate the students to take advantage of the many opportunities available to them through the FFA. The 2019 theme was “Start Your Engines”. Members left ready to promote FFA, agricultural education and agriculture in their schools and communities. FFA advisors also participated in a workshop that helped inform them about FFA opportunities for the school year. “This workshop is a great way to prepare FFA members for their role as an active member in their local chapter as well as those that serve as chapter officers,” says Cheryl Zimmerman, Wisconsin FFA Executive Director. “These sessions get students excited about leadership and all the opportunities that they can participate in through the FFA organization. It was a fun evening of leadership and fellowship. Special Thanks to Bill Kempka for joining us and representing Coleman FFA Alumni.
